Round 1 - Donington Park - Angus Whiteside

Round 1 of Porsche Carrera Cup GB was something else!

After sitting on provisional pole for 26 mins out of the 30 my coach said improve in marginal areas and you will be on pole! Of course I got far too excited then ended up driving off the road but the point was proven that the potential was there! We ended the session in P14!

Race day was a wash out with the whole morning rained off, so we were only given one race for the weekend. I was determined to show the pace so it was elbows out until we saw the chequered flag! We had a good start getting up to P9 on lap 1, then picking off more drivers as we went while also capitalising on peoples mistakes and tangles. As the safety car came out we were P5 with 15 laps to go. It was trying to stay calm! We picked off two more as the track went green for racing once again and my team mate was upfront. I almost got past up to 2nd but he defended very well, I even hit him pretty hard on the back straight after misjudging the switch back! Haha!

Over joyed to come back with a win in class and my first top 3 in Porsche Carrera Cup! See photos below!
