Round 2 - Brands Hatch - Angus Whiteside

What a weekend! I have never had so much emotion in 3 days!

After topping the time sheets in free practice 1, struggling in free practice 2 and having a mediocre qualifying it was time for the race on Saturday afternoon! This was the race we got back from Donington so I was starting 3rd on the grid!

On lap 1 we got up to 2nd after a great start, and then managed to get up to P1 on lap 2 going into Druids corner. After leading for 9 laps I came across the laped car and decided to pass on the grass as he was so slow it was the decision I chose to make. I was side ways, bouncing and bottoming out, I crashed into a Kwik Fit sign and even lost my splitter but I was still in the lead! As I crossed the start finish it still read 24 laps to go so I had to focus and go corner by corner! I was a lot of pressure fro behind but always managed to keep them there with great defending!

As I crossed the line with the P1 written on my pit board I was going crazy!!!!! All those years and hours now starting to pay off! I could not believe it!!!!! Porsche Carrea Cup GB race winners!!!!!

The following race was not so good, we got tagged on the rear and the car was put into a roll, yes a roll! Full on barrel roll. It was like being on a roller coaster while getting hit by baseball bats! I couldn't believe it, how did the tarmac come toward me, did I really just roll?! As I undid the seat belt I was panicking to get out the car, and once I saw the doctor I had the biggest sigh of relief.

Thank you to all the medics at the track, you guys and girls are real god sends. Race weekend over.
