After sitting dead last in qualifying I managed a good time on my final lap meaning we would start 11th!
Race 1 it was spitting and the circuit was damp, the forecast was dry so we gambled on slicks with most the grid sticking to wets. At the start we went from 11th to pretty much last as we struggling to get heat into the slick tyre. But after 5 laps when the circuit started to appear with a dry line we could push on and start to make progress. We picked off most the grid bit but bit and by lap 15 I was 7th overall and 1st in class!
There was plenty of pressure from behind but with no mistakes we came out on top in the end! P1 in class and 7th overall!
Race 2: we started 7th, but I creeped slightly on the start meaning I incurred a 10 second penalty. After that I got 2 track limit infringements so I got an extra 15 second penalty.
Despite this I stayed with the front pack and left the guys behind me for dead which showed we were fast! So it’s all positive!
