A challenging but rewarding weekend with strong finishes in tough conditions, reclaiming the championship lead!
What a weekend, ladies and gentlemen! On reflection, I am very proud of what we have achieved.
Race 1: This was the wettest race I’ve driven to date, with barely 20 meters of visibility ahead. Starting P4, I had a bad start and dropped to P7 on lap 1. From there, we fought back to P4 overall (P2 in class), including a great battle with my teammate—one I was hoping wouldn’t end in tears!
Race 2: The reverse grid for the top 4 meant I started on pole for the first time in my Carrera Cup career. Again, I had a bad start, trying to minimize wheel spin, and dropped to P4 overall (P2 in class), where we stayed for the entire race. While 90% of the field opted for slicks, I and five others stuck with wets. Thinking the track would dry later, we wondered if we’d become sitting ducks, but the conditions never changed, and our choice paid off!
Very happy with the results—we’re leading the championship once again!
