(For context, I was offered to race in Porsche Supercup at Silverstone, which is the pinnacle of Porsche Cup Racing. It’s 30 of the best Porsche Cup drivers in the world so its the perfect benchmark for yourself. Not to mention all of the races run along side the European rounds of Formula 1 so it’s a mega calendar!)
Fulfilled a dream that I never thought would happen this weekend in the form of the Porsche Supercup at Silverstone! I had to pinch myself each day as it’s not often you can say you raced alongside the pinnacle of motorsport. Here is how it went……
Unfortunately, we didn't finish the race. BUT WHAT AN EXPERIENCE . Qualified p27, and we were running in 15th after two laps! I avoided an incident going into the final chicane, but a car cut across my nose as I rejoined the circuit. I thought I had gotten away with it, but after a couple of corners, I realised the car wasn’t 100%, and my radio message was being broadcasted to the world saying I had a puncture (as the car wouldn’t turn right). I then got a warning saying my water pressure was low, which meant the radiator was damaged and pouring water onto my front wheel, giving the feeling of a puncture. I held 15th for half the race but then had to retire to save the engine.
If you haven't done so already, I urge you to watch the race; it was really exciting! Thank you to all my sponsors for allowing me to represent your brand, it means a lot to me, and it’s a responsibility I shoulder with great pride. Thank you for enabling me to experience it, and I hope you had a great weekend too! I hope to be back in the future.
